With white being the hottest colour of S/S13, its not a surprise its been popping up on all the runways of A/W13. Designers such as Derek LamProenza Schouler and Tommy Hilfiger all used white very successfully in their shows, but for the winter months the easiest way to incorporate these tippex-tones is into your makeup. My favourite use of white in makeup is definitely in the Moncler Gamme Rouge show, the brand extended their Arctic themed show beyond just the looks, they even had huskies walking with the models! The makeup emulated the way the skins reacts in extreme temperatures, we saw chaffed cheeks and snow flakes sitting on the skin, the over all look was very iridescent and beautiful (see it here).

The easiest way to get a super wearable version of the iridescent skin seen on the models at the Moncler show would be to set a dewy foundation of your choice with a light reflective skin highlighter. For an everyday look the highlighter doesn't need to have chunks of glitter, so a finely milled powder like Mac mineralize skinfinish in Lightscapade is perfect. The veining on this baked powder product is multi tonal, meaning it has blues, pinks and yellows running through the shimmer white base tone, and this creates a lovely glow when applied to the skin. Whilst it might be intimidating to put such a light reflective powder all over your face, with a light hand and a kabuki brush the application is sure to be a subtle shimmer.

I fell in love with the makeup at the Chanel A/W show after seeing the Gif, how couldn't anyone love that much glitter? Whilst some of you might consider it wearable, a fresh face paired with tonnes of large silver and white glitter applied to lid is a makeup look I would leave to the very brave. I started looking for more wearable versions, but generally they were more silver than white. I stumbled across this image on tumblr, and thought the look was very 60's and whilst it may not be the tippex white we have been seeing on the catwalk, its a very beautiful look that would be easy to incorporate into your makeup repertoire.

The soft blending through the crease really makes the look something special, and I would totally wear this look to add some interest to an all black ensemble, especially with party season approaching. Heres Pixiwoo showing you how to do a very similar look.
